Moon Lite Circle
This work was heavily inspired by Joseph Wright’s eighteenth century masterpiece, ‘Virgil’s Tomb by Moonlight.’ A few years ago I had the opportunity to linger most of the day at the MET in NYC – this painting jumped off the wall and dove deep into my soul. The erie feeling of the moonlight on these ancient rocks was haunting and mysterious. I boldly claimed artistic license and converted the tomb into a sacred circle gathering. This painting was sold to Sheila Gay Gross.
